Greenhouse Gas Management Services

Private companies, cities, states, and other government agencies are increasingly interested in quantifying, tracking, and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and synthetic gases.

For our clients, Pechan develops emission inventories (e.g., developing baselines), verifies inventory and reduction projects, develops data management systems, and assists with GHG mitigation plans.

Pechan is an approved Technical Assistance Provider and Inventory Certifier under the California Climate Action Registry (the Registry).  This voluntary greenhouse gas (GHG) registry is where entities with operations in the U.S. register their greenhouse gas emissions.  Our team is approved under the General Certification Protocol, the Power/Utility Protocol, and the Forestry Protocols.  Our team partners include Winrock International (http://www.winrock.org/) and the Center for Climate Strategies (www.climatestrategies.us).

Pechan certified the first GHG inventory submitted to the Registry by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, and we are currently in our fourth year of certification services for this Registry member.

Pechan also develops software products to help our clients manage their GHG emissions data.  These products range from simple spreadsheet tools to web-based data management systems.
